Hiking
More than 240 miles of trails (over half in Wilderness) access the high sub-alpine mountain terrain, the deeply incised, narrow, river canyons such as the North Fork and Mainstem Wild and Scenic Malheur Rivers, or special places such as the Cedar Grove Botanical Area. Some of the trails are perfect for a short, family, day hike with opportunities to learn about the history and ecology of the area. Some trails are barrier-free; some offer extended backpacking opportunities.
Each trail leads to unique memories and experiences.
