San Juan Campground

A nice combination of sun and shade, this campground offers exploration of the North Fork of the Skykomish river when you're not sitting by the campfire roasting marshmallows.

This small campground offers 8 campsites available on a first-come first-serve basis.

General Information

A picnic table and fire ring is available at each campsite. There is also a day-use picnic area There is no water on site, it is a dry campground. Water can be obtained from the river but needs to be filtered or treated.

It is 25 miles to the town of Skykomish where gas and groceries are available.

Check in: 2:00 p.m.; Check-out: 12:00 p.m. Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

  • Camping: 50% discount for single site camping with any of these passes: Interagency Senior, Interagency Access, Golden Age, or Golden Access pass.
  • Day use: Northwest Forest Pass or Interagency Pass OR Day Use fee ($8)

Directions

Drive US Highway 2 to just west about 7 miles past Gold Bar.  Turn left onto Index-Galena Road and travel about 3 miles. Campground will be on the right.
