Boulder River Trail 734

Begin hiking an old logging road below a steep cut bank. After climbing steadily for a short distance, there is a way-trail dropping down to where you can find the remnants of an old shelter and several nice camping spots. The trail enters Boulder River Wilderness just beyond here.

At 1.2 miles find a set of impressive waterfalls cascading down the vertical canyon wall on the opposite bank. This is the highlight of the trail and a frequent turnaround point.

Continue upstream with a few steep ups and downs before reaching another water fall. At about 2.5 miles the forest is lush, the river is seldom seen and the trail becomes very muddy with several broken bridges. In four miles descend to end at Boulder River and several campsites. Please be prepared pack out what you bring and deal with your waste properly. Brush and steep trail make it difficult to cat hole 200 feet from camps and water.
