High Prairie Trailhead

Fifteen car capacity in the parking lot. Restroom facilities and informational sign available. Provides access to: High Prairie Trail #493 that enters Badger Creek Wilderness to meet Divide Trail #458.

Recreation Passes  required May 1st - October 1st 

Wilderness regulations apply within Badger Creek Wilderness.

Recreation pass required May 15th to October 1st.   Day use envelopes available at the trail head.

Getting There

Directions

From Hood River, OR Drive 26.5 , miles south on Hwy 35. From Hwy. 35 turn off at road 44 (Dufur Mill Road). Turn east on this paved road for 3.8 miles and then turn off onto gravel High Prairie Road 4410. After 4.7 miles, (always keep turning uphill), reach a T-shaped intersection where the gravel road turns to dirt. Turn left for 200 yards and park at the trailhead parking lot. Posts block vehicles from the old summit road - now a hiking trail.
