Pine Point Boat Ramp & Day Use (Timothy Lake)

Located on the southern shore of Timothy Lake, Pine Point Day Use Area is a popular destination for outdoor recreation in the Mt. Hood National Forest. This scenic spot is ideal for boating, fishing, swimming, and picnicking, with direct lake access and convenient amenities.

Pine Point features the primary motorized boat ramp on Timothy Lake, offering easy lake access for motorboats, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. Anglers often launch here in search of kokanee and trout. A paved parking area and accessible path lead to the ramp and lakeshore.

The site also serves as a trailhead for the Timothy Lake Trail system and is a great starting point for hiking or biking around the lake or connecting to the Pacific Crest Trail.

A valid day use pass ($10) or Northwest Forest or Interagency Pass is required to park.

Boating - Motorized

10 mph speed limit for motorized boats. An artificially created lake, it is one of a few lakes on the Mt. Hood National Forest that allows motorized boating.

Boating - Non-Motorized

Canoeing and boating on Timothy Lake.

Swimming

There are no formal swimming areas or lifeguards.

Open 24 hours/day

National Forest Recreation Day Pass, Annual Northwest Forest Pass, or Interagency Pass is accepted in lieu of day use fee.

Directions

From Sandy, OR - Travel east on U.S. Highway 26 for approximately 40 miles to Skyline Road (Forest Road 42). Turn right on Skyline Road, travel south 9 miles. Turn right on Forest Service Road 57, west 2 miles, turn right at the Pine Point Campground entrance sign and stay to the left.
