West Shore Day Use (Timothy Lake)

Nestled along the southwestern shoreline of Timothy Lake, West Shore Day Use Area offers a more secluded setting for picnicking, paddling, and enjoying the scenic beauty of Mt. Hood National Forest. With direct access to the popular Timothy Lake Trail (#528), this site is a great launch point for hiking, biking, and wildlife viewing along the lake’s edge.

Shoreline launching is available for canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards into the calm waters of the lake. The picnic area, shaded by mature forest, provides a peaceful setting for a lakeside lunch or rest break during your outdoor adventure.

West Shore has limited parking, best suited for standard vehicles. Please note that vehicles over 30 feet in length are not permitted in the parking area due to space limitations.

A valid day use pass ($10) or Northwest Forest or Interagency Pass is required to park.

National Forest Recreation Day Pass, Annual Northwest Forest Pass, or Interagency Pass is accepted in lieu of day use fee.

$30 per annual

Directions

From Sandy, OR - Travel east on U.S. Highway 26 for approximately 40 miles to Skyline Road (Forest Road 42). Turn right on Skyline Road, travel south 9 miles. Turn right on Forest Road 57, west 3.5 miles over the dam, and turn right to the Myron Blank West Shore Day Use Area.
