  • Lone Fir Campground Closure on the Methow Valley Ranger District

Forest order implementing a trail and area closure in the vicinity of Lone Fir Campground in areas affected by heavy tree disease and hazard tree potential. A hazard tree survey conducted at the site in spring of 2025 found a substantial number of trees affected by fungal rot caused by the pathogens Schweinitzii and Heterobasidion. Affected trees appear green but are at risk of falling on tent sites, picnic tables, and other high use areas within the campground and the hazards need to be addressed before the campground can be opened.
