Cape Perpetua Visitor Center

The Cape Perpetua Visitor Center, in the heart of the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area has a phenomenal view of the ocean from inside, and from the wheelchair accessible deck. Open seven days a week most of the year, the visitor center staff can answer questions and help you plan your trip. A Discover Your Northwest bookstore sells books, postcards, and a variety of unique souvenirs.

Visitor Center Activities

The area offers lots of great activities and adventures for families, including a mobile app to help explore the coastal forest, junior ranger programs, and more. Be sure to check our news and events page frequently and like and follow us on Facebook and Twitter for notifications of programs and events throughout the year, or contact the Visitor Center for details at 541-547-3289.

Hiking

Cape Perpetua Scenic Area offers 26 miles of trail, many starting from the Visitor Center. Trails feature old-growth forests, Native American shell middens, the Devil’s Churn, tidepools and stunning views.

General Information

Visitor Center Hours*

Winter Hours: 10:00am to 4:00pm, Tuesday - Sunday. Summer Hours: 10:00am to 4:00pm, every day. Trails and viewpoints remain open dawn to dusk, even when the visitor center is closed. *Visitor Center may be closed on federal holidays, or during severe weather events. Due to staffing issues, hours may change or be inconsistent. Call 541-547-3289 to confirm. 

Recreation passes may be used as a form of fee payment

Day Use:
$5 per vehicle per day
$30 per annual

Within developed recreation sites, dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet, or otherwise under physical restrictive control. 36 CFR 261.16(j)
