    The seasonal use Forest Order for the Meacham Divide Nordic Area prohibits possessing or using a motorized vehicle off National Forest System Roads and using any motorized vehicle on National Forest System Roads within the Meacham Divide Nordic Area between December 1 and March 31.

SEASONAL USE OF MOTORIZED VEHICLES ON AND OFF NATIONAL FOREST SYSTEM ROADS 
LOCATION: MEACHAM DIVIDE NORDIC AREA 

Pursuant to 36 CFR Section 261.S0(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited within the Umatilla National Forest, within the Meacham Divide Nordic Closure Area, including the National Forest System Roads and Trails described in this Order and depicted on the attached Map (Exhibit A). This Order is effective on upon signature and shall be in effect until rescinded or January 1, 2026, whichever is earlier. This Order supersedes Order# 06-14-06-2022-09. 

PROHIBITIONS: 

1.    Possessing or using a motorized vehicle off National Forest System Roads within the Meacham Divide Nordic Closure Area between December 1 and March 31. 36 CFR 261.56
2.    Using any motorized vehicle on National Forest System Roads within the Meacham Divide Nordic Closure Area as listed below between December 1 and March 31. 36 CFR 261.54(a)

MEACHAM DIVIDE NORDIC CLOSURE AREA: 

The area closed to motorized use is that land bounded by a line beginning at the junction of National Forest System Road #3102 and the forest boundary in T1S, R36E, Sec 32; onward clockwise along the forest boundary through section 29 to #3102020 at its intersection with the junction of sections 29 and 20; onward north along the forest boundary in section 20 then east along the forest boundary in section 20 to the junction of section 20 with section 21; onward north along the section line to the northwest corner of section 21; onward east along the northern line of section 21 to the northeast corner of section 22; onward south along the section line to the tributary to Owlsley Creek; onward along the tributary to Wells Spring; onward due west from Wells Springs through section 28 to the junction of the line between sections 28 and 29; onward south along the section line to the southwest corner of section 28; onward west along the southern line of section 29 to the point of beginning at #3102.

EXEMPTIONS: 
Pursuant to 36 CFR Section 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order: 

1.    Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order.
2.    Any Federal, State, and Local Officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force, in the performance of an official duty.

These Prohibitions (Public Use Restrictions) are in addition to the General Prohibitions described in 36 CFR 261, Subpart A. 

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. 16 USC 551 and 18 USC 3551, 3559, 3571, and 3581.
