Forest Practices Interpretive Site

The Forest Practices Interpretive Site is a small roadside stop located along the Elkhorn Drive Scenic Byway. The interpretive panel describes the different types of silvicultural forest harvesting and thinning treatments of the lodgepole pine forest in front of the area.

Directions

From Baker City, OR, go south on Highway 7 for 26 miles to the Sumpter Valley Highway; Turn right at the Sumpter Valley Highway (State Highway 220) and go 12.5 miles; The interpretive site is on the left side of the road.
