CJ Way Snow Trail
Gold Lake Sno-Park » CJ Way Trail
If you are looking for an exhilarating route with some elevation from the Gold Lake Sno-Park, try the CJ Way trail. This moderately steep trail climbs 0.7 miles through mostly open timber to the summit of the unnamed butte above Westview Shelter.
From the top of this butte there is a nice view of Diamond Peak and the surrounding area. Along the way you will intersect CJ Way Tie that leads to Willamette Pass Ski Resort overflow parking lot.
With an elevation gain of 435 feet and several sharp turns, the CJ trail descent is challenging. Under powdery conditions, it is a delightful experience but with ice and crust, it can be hazardous. For those skiers wanting to make a less steep descent, take Diamond View Loop back to Abernethy Road past Westview Shelter via Westview Trails.
