Oakey Mountain OHV Trails

The thrill of driving off-road vehicles over mountainous terrain and trail systems equals the Oakey Mountain OHV recreation area. This site near Lake Burton and Lake Rabun offers two-way trails that are open to OHVs with less than a 48-inch axle width and offers terrain from intermediate to rocky and steep. All OHV trails on the national forest close during wet conditions when trail use can cause damage to trails and erosion into nearby streams. Please contact the Chattooga River Ranger District for the latest information on trail availability due to frequent weather contingencies. 706-754-6221 or check the website https://www.fs.usda.gov/r08/chattahoochee-oconee
