Warwoman Dell Recreation Area
Warwoman Dell is a family-friendly recreation area on the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in Rabun County, Georgia, that includes a wooded valley, trails, a waterfall, scattered picnic table and two CCC picnic shelters.
Trails: The Warwoman Dell Trail System is a 1.1-mile trail that's good for kids and dogs. It connects to two parking areas and includes a small waterfall. Other trails in the area include Becky Branch Falls, Martin Creek Falls, and Pinnacle Knob, and Bartram National Recreation Trail.
- Picnic shelters: Warwoman Dell has two picnic shelters and other picnic tables along the recreation area.
- History: The area has many informative signs about the history of the area and the woman for whom it's named, Nancy Ward. There are also old stone trout runs and spring houses built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the late 1930s.
- Name: The name Warwoman comes from Nancy Ward, a Cherokee woman who fought in the 1755 Battle of Taliwa.
