Philson Crossroads Rifle Range
Philson Crossroads is ADA accessible, with paved paths to targets and accommodates targets at 25 and 100-yard intervals.
Annual and daily passes for using the Enoree rifle ranges are available on recreation.gov.
General Information
Best practices for using the rifle range:
- Keep the rifle range free of litter.
- Only stationary paper or manufactured targets mounted on self-provided stands or holders. Using bottles, cans, pumpkins, watermelons etc. or other trash as targets is prohibited.
- Targets and target holders must be positioned at the base of the berm, to catch all bullets and eliminate the chance of ricochet.
- Use eye and ear protection.
- Follow the four rules of gun safety:
- Treat all guns as if they are loaded
- Control your muzzle: Keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction
- Be sure of your target and what is beyond.
- Keep your finger outside of the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.
All year, dawn to dusk, except for weekly cleaning schedule closed times
- While shooting, your valid daily or annual permit must be displayed. Clip permit on post at shooting table,
- Permits are non-transferable and non-refundable.
- Daily permits can only be purchased on site or on recreation.gov.
- Annual permits can only be purchased off site.
- Annual Shooting Range Passes are available for purchase at the Enoree, Long Cane, and Supervisor's Offices.
- Purchase through the mail by downloading the forms, keep a copy of the rules and regulations for your information, and fill out the Rifle Range Annual Special Recreation Permit form and mail with payment to the district office of the range that will be primarily used. Click here to print forms
- Annual passes can be purchased through recreation.gov.
- Refer to the Forest Supervisor's orders for prohibited actions on all rifle ranges on the forest.
- Tracer or incendiary ammunition and exploding targets are prohibited.
- Pack it in, pack it out. Shooters are responsible for cleanup of all bullet casings, target and target holder, litter-trash. This includes all pieces of stationary, biodegradable skeet being used as a target. (Ranges will be closed when they become trashed by non-caring shooters.)

- No alcoholic beverages
- No skeet and trap shooting
- Shoot only proper targets mounted on self-provided stands or holders. Do not shoot trash items, electronics or anything other than a proper target.
- Shoot only down the firing line, downrange and into the backstop
- Shooters under the age of 16 is free but must be accompanied by an adult and must provide identification, if asked.
- No Golden Age Passport and America the Beautiful Interagency Pass discount.
- Daily pass is $5 per user. Annual Shooting Range Pass is $50 per calendar year. The Annual Shooting Range Pass is honored at all ranges on the Enoree and Long Cane Districts.

Philson Crossroads Rifle Range, from I-26 in Laurens County: At Interstate 26 and Hwy. 56, drive north .5 miles. Turn right at Hwy. 56 and 44-22, Barrel Stave Rd, drive 3.9 miles. Turn right at 44-22 and State Highway S-30-26, Philson Rd. drive 0.4 miles.
