Okhissa Lake
Welcome to the Homochitto National Forest and beautiful Okhissa Lake, a 1075-acre recreational lake for fishing, boating, picknicking and a seasonal swimming area. Okhissa Lake currently offers many amenities and additional improvements are planned for the future. Please recreate safely and enjoy your visit. If you have a great day on the lake, remember to tell your friends and neighbors and help boost the economy in Franklin and surrounding counties. Features three gravel parking areas and 39 miles of shoreline.
General Information
Day use only area. Hours: Sunrise to sunset
Senior Pass: $2.50 per vehicle
Access Pass: $2.50 per vehicle
Annual Pass: free
MS Adventure Pass: free
The following activities are not permitted at Okhissa Lake at this time:
- Camping
- Hunting
- Discharging firearms, air rifles or gas guns
- Fishing with trotlines, yo-yos, nets, throw lines, jugs or hand-grabbing
- Swimming from the shoreline
- Horseback riding and use of pack animals
- Operating unlicensed trail bikes, all-terran vehicles and other low-PSI vehicles in the recreation area
- Abandoning your vehicle or parking in a way that violates posted instructions
Day Use:

Cars and trucks: $5 per vehicle
School buses, bicycles, walk-ins: $1 per person
