Gaudineer Picnic Area

Several somewhat secluded picnic sites  sit at the end of a half-mile loop trail though impressive old growth stands of Virgin Red Spruce.  The Gaudineer Scenic Overlook also sits along this trail.

Allegheny Trail is also located nearby for those looking for a more ambitious hike. Also close by is the West Fork Trail, which guides you along the Shaver’s Fork River.

This scenic stop can be found 7 miles north and west of Durbin, West Virginia, on Shavers Mountain.

From Durbin travel west on US Route 250 for approximately 6 miles to Forest Road 485. Turn north (right turn) and travel approximately 1 mile.
