Grey Towers Legacy Scholarship 2024 Recipients Awarded

 

May 8, 2024— Congratulations to the Grey Towers Legacy Scholarship 2024 recipients. Two weeks ago, checks were dispersed to three local high school students, Ethan Hidalgo, Hallie Balogh and Sydney Vierzchalek.

Ethan Hidalgo attends Minisink Valley High School, his intended major is computer engineering, and he was accepted at Yale University. Hallie Balogh from Delaware Valley High School, her intended major is environmental sustainability and will be attending Leiden University at The Hague, Netherlands. Sydney Vierzchalek currently attends Wallkill Valley Regional High School and will be pursing optometry as a biology major at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut.

The United States Forest Service and Grey Towers Heritage Association partnered to create the Grey Towers Legacy Scholarship, which is a first of its kind within the US Forest Service. This Scholarship was created to support the pursuit of new ideas, strategies, and solutions in the fields of natural resources, science, economics, ecology, education, and social sciences. The 2025 Grey Towers Legacy Scholarship application will open November 3, 2024, and close February 2, 2025. For more information, please visit www.greytowers.org/legacyscholarship.
