A young Nez Perce warrior of the Looking Glass Band, Peo Peo Tholekt fought with distinction in every battle during the 1877 war and flight of the Nez Perce (Niimíipuu). He was wounded during the skirmish at Camas Meadows when Nez Perce warriors raided the military camp capturing most of the mule herd and a few horses. Escaping to Canada after the battle at Snake Creek near the Bears Paw Mountains, he later shared his stories and sketches of the events of 1877 with the author L.V. McWhorter.
