Vehicle barriers are needed
to protect natural resources
and amenities at trailheads, picnic
areas, campgrounds, and other
facilities. The tech tip "Vehicle
Barriers: Their Use and Planning
Considerations" (0623–1201P–SDTDC) helps designers, land
managers, recreation staff,
engineering staff, and volunteer
trail workers know when,
where, and how to use vehicle
barriers. Vehicle barriers used
at campgrounds and trailheads
do not take the place of highway
vehicle barriers or safety barriers
on roads. Construction drawings
are included. The report is available
at http://www.fs.fed.us/eng/pubs/ (Search for "vehicle").
