    The purpose of this order is to reduce the probability of human-caused ignitions of wildfire during times of dry fuel conditions.

  • 20-D1-04 Mill Creek Trail

    The purpose of this order is to protect the Bitterroot National Forest Trail Crew and the public from potential harm from trail construction related hazards (rolling rock, rigging operations, etc.). The Trail closure allows for the Trail Crew to conduct construction activities in the safest possible manner. The Trailhead and Road closure allows for the Trail Crew to camp at the Trailhead during construction operations and meet the Trails Programs COVID Mitigation Standard Operating Plan.

     

  • 19-D4-19 Trail #606 and #673

    The purpose of this order is for public health and safety due to hazardous conditions resulting from the implementation of a fish removal project in Overwhich Creek and its tributaries upstream of Overwhich Falls using the piscicide rotenone.

     

  • 19-D1-09 Larry Bass (Rescinded 4/25/2019)

    The purpose of this order is to protect firefighters and the public from potential harm from prescribed fire associated with the Larry Bass Prescribed Burn. The closure allows for firefighters to travel the roads and trails during operations and if an escape fire occurs the public will not be in danger.

  • 19-D2-05 FDR #5620 (Rescinded 6/4/2019)

    The purpose of this order is for resource protection on the 5620 road, due to soft road conditions.   Expected duration of road closure is until late spring of 2019.

  • 19-D2-04 FDR #62953 (Rescinded 6/4/2019)

    The purpose of this order is for resource protection on the 62953 road, due to soft road conditions.   Expected duration of road closure is until late spring of 2019.

  • 19-D2-03 Canyon Creek Road #735 (Rescinded 4-16-2019)

    For the purpose of this order, the road is closed to all motorized wheeled vehicles due to soft road conditions. This temporary closure will be in effect starting March 27, 2019 and will be rescinded depending on road conditions.   

  • 18-D2-23 Skalkaho-Daly dispersed Camping area

    The prohibitions cited with in this order are due to active logging operations in the Skalkaho-Daly dispersed Camping area. The closure follows with an attached map.
