Working Together

Partnerships

When the Arizona National Scenic Trail (AZNST) was designated as a National Scenic Trail in 2009, Congress assigned the Forest Service as the lead federal agency for managing the trail across its 800-mile length.

The Forest Service partners with diverse land managers along the Trail including, Arizona State Parks, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, as well as with the Arizona Trail Association and local governments, to coordinate the management and operation of the Trail.
