Tribal Relations

The Bridger-Teton National Forest is within the ancestral range of many different Native American tribes. The Forest engages in government-to-government consultation and information sharing with tribes that maintain a strong connection to the land, especially the Eastern Shoshone and Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. Our working relationships with tribal governments include involvement in project planning, protection of sacred sites, and facilitating continued traditional use of the many resources within the Bridger-Teton.
