  The Boone Forest Rally, a stage rally where competitors race from point-to-point against the clock, will take place September 22-23, 2023 within the Horse Lick Creek area as well within S-Tree Tower area and the Mill Creek Wildlife Management Area within the Daniel Boone National Forest.

  Join FIND Outdoors in celebrating National Public Lands Day at Gladie Visitor Center!

  Immerse yourself in your public lands by participating in trash clean-up day. FIND Outdoors will have supplies available at Gladie Visitor Center to pick up litter around the Center grounds or to take with you and pick up litter during your Red River Gorge adventures.

  Bonus prizes will be awarded for visitors who bring found and bagged trash from the Gorge area back to the Gladie Visitor Center during business hours on Saturday or Sunday (September 23-24, 2023).

  Join America’s most beloved storytellers in a beautiful mountain lakeside setting surrounded by a vibrant palette of fall colors. These talented artists will take you away to other times and places through the art of storytelling. Stories are told in large tents on the shore of Cave Run Lake at Twin Knobs Recreation Area in the Daniel Boone National Forest, located eight miles west of Morehead, Kentucky.

  Join National Deer Association Conservation Director Matt Ross, MeatEater’s Mark Kenyon and Forest Service, state agency, and university representatives for a day of white oak acorn collecting. Acorns collected will be started in a state-owned nursery and then returned to the same landand and planted as bareroot seedlings a year later. 

  This event is part of the National Deer Association's agreement to reforest nearly 100 acres of the National Forest with desirable mast-producing species, such as oaks. Learn more about the event.
