Forest Order
Pursuant to Title 16 USC § 551 and Title 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on forest system roads on the Ouachita National Forest.
It is prohibited to:
1. Use a road for commercial hauling without a permit or authorization. 36 CFR 261.54(c)
2. Operate any motorized vehicle on a National Forest System Road or any portion thereof that is posted as closed or closed by an earthen mound, gate, or other object which a reasonable and prudent person would consider closed. 36 CFR 261.54 (e)
3. Operating any motorized vehicle carelessly, recklessly or without regard for the rights and safety of other persons or in a manner or at a speed that would endanger or be likely to endanger any person or property. 36 CFR 261.54 (f)
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e) the following persons are exempt from the above prohibitions:
1. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of their official duty.
3. Persons with a Forest Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order, Form FS-7700-48, specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.
