Mixed conifer-white birch residual stand photo. Taken facing N85E from a spot 2.06 chains N78E of stake 83-20. No initial stand photo of this area. The area was occupied primarily by mature and over mature hemlock. Cutter dicontinued cutting after the poor quality of the hemlock became evident. Seed source spruce is abundant on the perimeter of this area. Some small spruce and white pine reproduction present in limited number.

Spruce-fir forest initial stand photo. Also large scattered white pine and hemlock. Reproduction is spruce and fir, background is a mixed conifer swamp. Taken facing S55W 1.12 chains due east from stake 72-18. snow depth 6-9 inches.
