South Slope Loop

A sign welcomes visitors to the southslope loop.

South Slope Loop includes 27 individual sites. The loop contains centralized water, flush toilets, hot showers, and a recharge table for electric boat motors. A selection of single or extra large sites are available in this shady campground.

Operational Hours: Open 24 hours/day, Quiet hours are 10 pm to 6 am The site is open through firearm gun season in the fall.
Reservations: Reservations are made by calling 1-877-444-6777 (TTY is 1-877-833-6777) April 15 through September 30. There is a $10 reservation fee and a cancellation fee. Reservation information is available at: http://www.recreation.gov.

Restrictions: A complete list of US Forest Service rules and regulations are posted on bulletin boards in the campground. No hardwood firewood may be brought in to the campgrounds unless it has been certified by the USDA or IDNR.

Restroom: Flush toilets, vault toilet available in winter months.

Campground Camping

This is one of two shady campground loops in the Indian-Celina Lake Recreation Area. It includes 27 sites for tents or RVs. All of these sites are electric. This loop is open from 4/15-10/15. A maximum of 2 vehicles and 8 people are allowed on a single site. The loop has two double sites which allow a maximum of 4 people and 16 people.

Reservation Info Reservations for campground sites can be made by calling toll free the National Reservation System at 1-877-444-6777 (TTY is 1-877-833-6777.)  The fee for making the reservation is $10. There is a minimum cancellation fee of $10.00. Reservation information is available at: http://www.recreation.gov. If not previously reserved, occupancy is on a first come basis.
Fire Information Each site has a campfire grill established where camp fires must be built.

Visitor Programs

During the spring and summer seasons, visitors are encouraged to attend our interpretive programs. Programs are offered at the amphitheater near the Rickenbaugh House or in some cases a few programs may be held at other locations.
