August Lake


August Lake is a secluded lake with 2 backcountry campsites.  The one campsite can be accessed by vehcile and the other is water accessed only. This lake has good walleye and northern pike fishing.

August Lake is located south of Ely about four miles off Hwy. 1 on FR 377 and FR 388.

Access road is gravel.

Dispersed Camping

There are 2 back country campsites on this lake. One campsite is accessible by foot and the other by water only from the carry down on the north side of the lake.

Please use facilities provided such as fire rings, tent pads, and latrines and pack out garbage. 

Fees: None required.
Reservation info: First-come, first-served.
