Areas of Research
BEMRP
is divided into four areas of research. Human
Dimensions includes research on the social context for ecosystem
management, explores alternative public involvement methods, and keeps
participants and the public informed about BEMRP activities and results. Vegetation
Research describes current conditions and processes in forest,
grassland, and aquatic communities. Fauna
Research investigates the status of mammal species, aquatic insects,
and migratory birds in Bitterroot ecosystems, including the impacts
of noxious weeds on wildlife. Landscape
Analysis Research develops geospatial, simulation, and decision
models that analyze change in forest ecosystems and management options
on a landscape scale.
