Wildland Fire Chemicals Test Procedures

WFCS must evaluate and qualify all wildland fire chemical products before Federal agencies can use them. Several documents combined describe the process and requirements for evaluating and qualifying each product type:

• The manufacturer submission procedures for each product type explain how to submit a product and what information is required.
• The specification for each product type contains the classification and performance requirements and a brief description of the test methods to use.
• The standard test procedures contain more detailed information for performing each required test.

WFCS will revise the test procedures as necessary to maintain current descriptions and incorporate changes resulting from specification revisions. WFCS will include a revision date in the link to each procedure to enable users to determine when procedures have been updated.

WFCS will maintain and update the list of websites included for other references. Be aware that other agencies and organizations may change their web addresses at any time.
