Project Description:

The Forest Health Technology Enterprise Team requested that MTDC perform a market search to find a portable weather station for entomologists to record weather data during field work.  Some of the requirements for selection of the station were:

• The ability to record wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, rain fall, and net radiation
  
  
• A low starting threshold for wind speed and wind direction measurements
  
  
• Easy to set up
  
  
• Easy to download data

Project Status:

MTDC procured two portable weather stations from Met One Instruments.  The weather stations have been modified to simplify set up in the field and have been set up at MTDC for testing.  The weather stations will be ready for field use by spring of 2012.
