Spray Mapping System
Project Description:
It is important that Forest Service employees be able to accurately document where and how much herbicide they have applied on a project. Current documentation methods used by some units are slow, labor intensive, and have questionable accuracy. Commercial vendors have developed systems that automatically map the location, and in some cases, record the flow rate of the herbicide as it is being applied. The purpose of this project is to evaluate some of these spray mapping systems on ground based sprayers and determine their accuracy and ease of use.
Project Status:
Two spray mapping systems have been procured and tested at MTDC. Field testing is scheduled for spring 2012.
