Log Load Wrapper Security System
Conclusions From discussions with Boise Cascade (BCC) during a testing follow-up meeting held on December 9, 2003, Bruce Waite, Region 4 Contracting Officer reported that, it appeared they are interested in continuing to use this system for logs leaving the Region 4 scaling zone. This may be related to the waiver they received during the testing to only single end paint and brand log ends. It was discussed how this system could be implemented, and it appears that BCC would prefer to acquire ratchets and straps rather than the Forest Service provide them. However, this will need to be investigated further as only one purchaser has used the system so far. Overall, Region 4 was pleased with the testing and implementation of the system and plans to continue using it in 2004. |
