Keeping Frontliners Safe and Secure

Another passive security feature involves designing the front desk with adequate exits or escape routes. This prevents frontliners from being cornered by an angry visitor.

If unit managers implement this security feature, the front desk should have two exits or an escape route that leads to a safe area. The exits and escape routes need to be clear of obstacles. The safe area must be secure from intrusion and a telephone or radio needs to be available.
