Fire Storm 2000
The Optec NGN-3 nephelometer was operated in both Missoula and Hamilton. Figure 23 shows the results of both sets of tests. The instruments performed almost identically at both Missoula and Hamilton. The instruments overestimated the smoke mass concentration by about 42 to 44 percent with a y-intercept of 9 to 11 µg/m³. Both had correlation coefficients greater than 0.99. Figure 24 shows the results from combining both sets of tests. The combined instruments overestimated the mass concentration by 43 percent with a y-intercept of -11.01 µg/m³. The correlation coefficient was 1.00.
