MTDC Portable Vehicle Washer System: Operator's Manual

Site Selection

The washer should be set up on a fairly flat location that is free from sharp rocks or other debris that can puncture the containment mat. The trailer should be on one side of the containment mat. Make sure there is plenty of room around the trailer, because you will need room when filling and draining tanks, changing filters, and so forth. Also, find a location that has plenty of room for the vehicles to line up before they drive onto the containment mat.

Ideally, the containment mat’s lowest point (figure 2) will be on the side where the trailer is located. Otherwise, vehicles will drive over the hose to the sump pump.
