This image illustrates the floor plan to be used when storing flammable solids outdoors and describes the requirements to be used for storage. These requirements are described as follows:
- No more than 125 pounds of flammable
solids per control area.
- Control areas no closer than 20 feet to an alley, gravel road,
street, or highway.
- Have a proper fire extinguisher outside if dispensing flammable solids
within 50 feet of a storage
area or structures.
- Recommend control areas are no closer than 50 feet to a structure (inhabited
or uninhabited), with the gradient sloping away from building.
- Control areas no closer than 20 feet to a property line.
- Remove weeds
and combustibles
within 15 feet of
each group.
- If the property is larger than 10,000 square feet, you may have a maximum of two control areas if they are separated by 50 feet; if the property is larger than 35,000 square feet, additional control areas are permitted if they are separated by more than 300 feet.
