In the graphic, signs are placed where the intersection and oncoming traffic are on the same side. Sign 1, furthest away from the intersection is made up of two signs. The top sign reads, "FIRE TRAFFIC ENTERING ROAD" and has an optional warning light, there is an advisory speed plaque below the top sign which is optional and reads, "XX MPH". To obtain the distance for the placement of the sign from the intersection use table 1 on page 8.

Sign 2, closest to the intersection sharing the same side of the roadway reads, "INCIDENT BASE", the sign has an arrow giving direction and an optional warning light. Another option for sign 2 are two signs that reads, "ROCK CREEK" and "HELIBASE" which has an arrow giving direction. The placement of these signs can be determined from table 2 on page 9.

On the opposite side of the road the same signs are placed towards traffic traveling in the other direction.
