Flagging Operations To Stop Traffic for Helicopter Activities

In the graphic, a two-way roadway is shown with a red double sided arrow in the middle of the graphic, with text reading, "FLIGHT PATH". On each side of the roadway and flight path arrow are signs warning motorists of flaggers and helicopter activities. There are the same set of signs for each direction the motorists are traveling.

The first sign that motorists approach reads, "FIRE ACTIVITY AHEAD", the next sign reads, "BE PREPARED TO STOP", the last sign has a graphic of a person with a flag. After the last sign, is a graphic of a red flag and text that reads, "Flagger" indicating where the flagger stands. Between the flagger and the flight path there is an optional buffer space. For the best space between each sign, the last sign and the flagger refer to table 1. To obtain the proper distance for the buffer space refer to table 3.
