In the middle of the roadway is a guard vehicle that is parked next to a barricade. The barricade is stopping a vehicle that had been traveling along the roadway. The detail of the barricade shows the barricade along with three signs that can be used on it. A type three barricade is shown, including all of the specification requirements. The barricade has white and orange stripes, it has a five foot minimum height, four foot minimum width, each rail on the barricade is eight to twelve inches high, there is an optional warning light, the stripes on the rails are uniform, set at a 45 degree angle, and six inches wide. In the graphic, there is a red arrow pointing to the diagonal stripes on the rail with text that reads, "Safe passing side". The three signs that can be posted on the barricade read: "ROAD CLOSED", "ROAD USE PERMIT REQUIRED FOR THRU TRAFFIC" (EM-5), and "AREA CLOSED" (EM-2).
The signs leading up to the barrier reads, "ROAD CLOSED AHEAD" with an optional warning light, next are two signs paired together, the top sign reads, "BE PREPARED TO STOP" with an optional warning light and the bottom sign reads, "XX MPH" which is an optional advisory speed plaque. There is another set of signs that are next to a stick figure of a person that represents the traffic control person. The top sign reads "STOP" and the sign below it reads, "TRAFFIC CONTROL POINT". To determine the distance between each sign refer to table 1.
There is an optional buffer space between the set of signs reading "STOP" and "TRAFFIC CONTROL POINT" and the barricade. To obtain the distance between these two feature refers to table 3.
