Recording and Reporting Occupational Injuries and Illness
This standard requires:
- Employers of 10 or fewer employees, except for employers in certain
low-hazard industries (such as retail, service, finance, insurance,
and real estate), to maintain OSHA specified records of job-related
injuries and illnesses.
- All employers, regardless of size and industry,
must report to the nearest OSHA office within eight (8) hours any
accident that results
in a fatality or (in-patient) hospitalization of three (3) or more
employees.
