  • Donner Summit Pacific Crest Trailhead Parking Lot Closure

    The Donner Summit Pacific Crest Trailhead parking lot will be closed Sept. 16 – 19 for public safety. California State Parks’ will be removing hazard trees surrounding the parking area as part of the Donner Summit Vegetation Removal Project.

  • Stage 2 Fire Restrictions

    Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a), and to provide for public safety and protect natural resources, the following acts are prohibited on National Forest System lands within or administered by the Tahoe National Forest. This Order is effective through October 31, 2025.

  • Tahoe National Forest conducting fuels reduction work near Emigrant Gap

    Tahoe National Forest, in collaboration with National Forest Foundation, plans to conduct mastication, mechanical thinning and hand thinning activities on up to 350 acres near Emigrant Gap.

  • Rattlesnake Road Closure

    The purpose of this closure is to provide for public safety along the closed roads in light of their proximity to the Lake Fordyce Dam during dam reconstruction activities.
