There are no reported river hazards at this time on the McKenzie River above Leaburg Dam.

ROAD CONDITIONS

ROAD CLOSURES AND DELAYS

Highway 242 (Old McKenzie Highway): Highway OPEN through to Sisters, OR to vehicles under 35 feet in length. This is a narrow, winding road; please use caution when traveling; this road is not recommended for large recreational vehicles. 

Forest Road 19 (Aufderhiede Drive): OPEN. Road work activities may cause delays. Hauling and logging activity at spur 408.

Forest Service Road 2600-740; Forest Service Road 2600-743; CLOSED to public from Highway 126 due to the Blue Top fire.

Highway 126: Expect possible 20 minute delays at milepost 10.5, near Trail Bridge Reservoir beginning September 12 and continuing for 3 weeks while ODOT performes road work. 

Forest Road 15-500 to Highway 126 (Blue River Reservoir Rd.): Heavy hauling, logging activity.

Forest Road 1993 mile post 3.8: A rockslide has closed the road to vehicle traffic.

Forest Road 480 (Road to Castle Rock Trailhead): Heaving logging and hauling activity may cause delays (should be no more than 20 minutes). 

West King Road at Belknap Covered Bridge: CLOSED August 15-November 17. Use McKenzie River Drive to Hwy 126 to Cougar Dam Road to West King Road.

McKenzie River Trail: The entire length of the McKenzie River Trail is now open. Areas east of Blue Pool remain closed. For more information, click here

Obsidian Limited Entry Area Permits:  Advance reservations are now ONLY available through the National Recreation Reservation System (NRRS) at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777. Visit our Obsidian Limited Entry Permit Page for more information.

CAMPGROUNDS AND DAY USE SITES

Campground and cabin reservations can be made through the National Recreation Reservation Service, by calling the toll-free number: 1-877-444-6777 or online to www.recreation.gov.

List of all campgrounds and day use sites in the McKenzie Santiam Travel Corridor with scheduled open/close dates, fees and key amenities.

Terwilliger Hot Springs:  Fees at Terwilliger Hot Springs are $6.00 per person for a day pass (can pay onsite) and $70 for an annual pass. Fee area includes hot springs, trail, lagoon, and parking.
