Crazy Woman Canyon, Forest System Road 33, will not open this season due to a bridge replacement project.  For your safety and the safety of construction workers, please respect the closure. The project is expected to run through September 2025. Crazy Woman Canyon Road has an annual seasonal closure from March 1 through June 20- the closure gate will not be opened this summer due to the bridge work.

The bridge replacement project is being done in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration and Johnson County.  As part of this project, Johnson County is also replacing a bridge off-forest along the same route. The work is necessary to make improvements to critical infrastructure and is essential in maintaining public access.

Please use alternative routes this summer and respect the closure so the work can proceed as planned. For information and updates on closures, please follow us on X (@BighornNF) or like us on Facebook (US Forest Service – Bighorn National Forest).
