Mount Of The Holy Cross Overlook Observation Site
Alert: This site, including the parking area, trail, and overlook, will be closed June 21 to Aug. 31 while the deck is replaced.
This observation deck, also known as Julia's Deck, is accessed by an easy 1/8 mile accessible trail. It provides views of the Mount of the Holy Cross and is often reserved for wedding ceremonies. The small wooden deck has 3 benches for seating and can hold approximately 30 people. The parking area can hold up to 10 vehicles and has a vault toilet. Call the Eagle-Holy Cross Ranger District to reserve a 2-3 hour time slot during the summer months. (970) 827-5715

Directions
Travel east from Vail on I-70 to Exit 190 for Vail Pass. Exit here and turn right, heading west, onto the Shrine Pass dirt road (FSR 712). Follow this easy road 3.7 miles, past Shrine Pass and the Shrine Mountain Trail parking lot, to a smaller parking lot on the left at 3.7 miles.
