Mill Meadow Reservoir Boat Ramp Rec Site
Overview
Mill Meadow Reservoir is a 156-acre impoundment of the Fremont River and UM Creek. The rec site is located about 12 miles northeast of Loa, Utah at an elevation of 7,700 feet. The reservoir is entirely dedicated to irrigation use, and water levels can drop as water is released during the irrigation season. Water levels will rise again during mid-summer when water is released from Fish Lake, Johnson Reservoir, and Forsyth Reservoir.
Facilities
A small boat ramp is available for launching both small, motorized, and non-motorized watercraft, and a restroom is located on the point between the Fremont and UM arms of the reservoir. There are no nearby campgrounds, though dispersed camping is allowed on the east shore along the Fremont River, upstream of the reservoir.
Recreation
Popular activities in the area include fishing, boating, hiking, dispersed camping, OHV road riding and wildlife viewing.
General Information
The Mill Meadow Reservoir fishery is managed through annual stocking of "catchable"-sized (8-10 inches) rainbow trout. This reservoir is also unique because it harbors a large population of wild brown trout that are sustained by dense numbers in the tributary streams. Due to its location downstream of Fish Lake and Johnson Reservoir, Mill Meadow often contains abundant populations of Utah suckers, Utah chubs, and yellow perch. For more information and to see current stocking reports, please visit the Division of Wildlife Resources Fish UTAH website
The reservoir is open from April to October. The recreation area is open year-round.
