Twin Creeks Picnic Area
Overview
Twin Creeks Picnic Area is is a day-use site located next to Fish Lake and the Fish Lake Scenic Byway Highway 24, at an elevation of 8,800 feet. Visitors enjoy fishing, boating, exploring local trails and viewing spawning salmon from the boardwalk that meanders along the creek. The Kokanee salmon generally start spawning and swimming upstream in mid-to-late fall. Please do not disturb the fish or reach into the water.
Facilities
Twin Creeks contains one accessible group picnic site that can accommodate up to 100 people. A large picnic shelter with lake views is available on-site, covering several picnic tables, grills and a campfire ring.
Natural Features
The picnic area sits amid scattered pines and aspens on the shore above Fish Lake. Sagebrush and summer wildflowers dot the landscape.
Recreation
Fish Lake is Utah's largest natural mountain lake, covering 2,500 acres. It is famous for its 20-40 pound Mackinaw lake trout. Anglers also enjoy fishing for rainbow trout and splake. Boating, canoeing, swimming and scuba diving are popular activities.
- The 5-mile Pelican Canyon Trail begins a mile away at Bowery Creek Campground. It leads through meadows and dense forests of spruce, pine and aspen as it climbs to the 11,633-foot Fish Lake Hightop.
- The popular Lakeshore National Recreation Trail extends around the eastern side of the lake. Hikers are rewarded with stunning lake views after climbing 900 feet in elevation.

Power outlets, lights, flush toilets and drinking water are provided for use with picnic area reservations.

- Street legal ATV and OHV's are allowed in the Fish Lake basin.

- Pets must be leashed at all times within this recreation area. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors and to protect wildlife.
- Clean up dog waste and dispose of it properly.
- Keep dogs from chasing, harassing, and disturbing wildlife, livestock or other visitors
- Yield to other hikers, horses, and other trail users by stepping off the trail and controlling your dog

Directions
The Twin Creeks Rec Site is located 41 miles east of Richfield, Utah. From Richfield, head east on UT-118 N/E 300 N toward N 100 E 0.8 mile. Continue straight onto UT-119 E 8.8 miles. Turn right onto UT-24 E for 23 miles, then turn left onto UT-25 N for 8.7 miles. The destination will be located on the right (east) side of the road.

Other Amenities
The Twin Creeks amphitheater is located to the north of the picnic area, across the parking lot. Reservations and use of the amphitheater can be coordinated through the Twin Creeks Visitor Center or by calling Fremont Rivier Ranger District. Amphitheater reservations do not restrict other day use visitors from utilizing the Twin Creeks picnic area or acess to the boardwalk and visitor center.
