Carson River Takeout
The Carson River Takeout is located on the East Fork Carson River near Gardnerville, Nevada. The primary use of the site is for non-motorized water users (e.g., kayaks and rafters) to end their river tip prior to reaching the Ruhenstroth Dam just below the takeout site. The Takeout consist of a gravel beach with a parking area above.
White-water rafting a a popular use of this area, with the 19-mile scenic stretch above the Carson River Takeout (starting at Hangman's Bridge near Markleeville, Calif.) having a difficulty rating of II+(III).
