Horse Creek Trailhead
The Horse Creek Trailhead is located at the upper reaches of the Twin Lakes area near Bridgeport, California. This is an popular trailhead with hikers, backpackers, equestrians, and climbers that serves as an access point into the Hoover Wilderness. Alpine lakes, towering peaks, and scenic passes await recreationists who seek a wilderness adventure.
General Information
- There is no parking available at this trailhead as it is located up the trail. Parking is available at the Mono Village Resort located at the end of the Twin Lakes Road. There is a fee charged for parking at the resort.
June - October, as weather and conditions allow.

- Overnight use within the Hoover Wilderness requires a wilderness permit year-round. Please see Recreation.gov for information on obtaining a permit and associated fees.
- A free California Camp Fire Permit issued by CalFire is required for campfire, barbecue, and portable stove use.

Directions
From Bridgeport, California, travel 13.5 miles on Twin Lakes Road to the Mono Village Resort. From the south side of the resort parking area follow signs for the Horse-Cattle Creek Trail. The trailhead is located along the trail past the resort property on National Forest System lands.
