Spooner Summit South Trailhead

The Spooner Summit South Trailhead is located off U.S. Highway 50, west of Carson City, Nevada. This is a popular year-round trailhead for recreational users and provides direct access to the Tahoe Rim Trail. The trailhead also features picnic sites and interpretative exhibits.

May - October, as weather and conditions allow.

Open 24 hours/day

  • No overnight camping.
  • Dog must be on a leash at day use areas.     

No fees are required for this site

Directions

From Carson City, travel approximately 11 miles west on US Highway 50 (from the intersection of US-50 and US-395) to the trailhead, which is located on the south side of the highway.
