Blue Creek-Allen Canyon Trail

The Blue Creek/Allen Canyon Trail #013 is 7.1 miles long. One of the longer trails in the area, this trail travels from the ponderosa pines around Forest Road #095 (The Causeway) to the low juniper shrublands around the northern end of Forest Trail #011 (Tuerto). This trail ascends Allen Canyon to the head of Tuerto Canyon, with scenic views as it crosses Forest Trail #015 (Skyline). From this high point the trail descends above Blue Creek before intersecting Forest Trail #011 (Tuerto). Loops can be made using this trail and other area trails. The other trails which can be used to complete various loops include: Tuerto to Skyline (#457), Skyline (#015), Trough Canyon (#163) and Tuerto (#011). This trail is very steep and narrow with some rocky drop-offs and unstable surfaces. Be sure that you are comfortable in this type of terrain.
